Life in Brunei - Sunrise at Labi

Luagan Lalak Recreation Park

Lying about 25 km from Sungai Liang along the Labi Road, this park covers an area of roughly 270 hectares within the Labi Hills Forest Reserve.

A rare and interesting place, it features an alluvial freshwater swamp or empran. During rainy periods it fills up like a lake, and in drier spells the waters recede and the valley becomes covered with sedges - mainly of the species Lepironia.

There are shelters, footpaths and a 200 metre timber walkway which spans most of the lake.

Special thanks to Kok Hua, woke early 5am and drove to this beautiful place for sunrise...

This was taken early in the morning, we reached the beach site around 5.45am, while we were setting up the shoot rain started to drop down, so we have to stop and ran for shelter.

We waited for awhile. Rain finally stopped, sky were still dark, we moved back quicky to see if we are able to get some shot done before the rain coming back again.

Sad to say there was no sunrise (cant even see the sun as it was covered by thick dark cloud). However we manage to capture some twlight during the shoot.

HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the homes of the recipients of the keys to semi-detached and terrace houses under the Panaga National Housing Scheme on 30/July/2011.

While waiting for the arrival of His Majesty, crowds were gathered at the selected houses, waiting in line hoping to greet the monarch and to shake his hand. Among those waiting under the heat of the sun were the new homeowners who had just received the keys to their houses in a ceremony held earlier in the morning. Some were seen carrying their key plaques hoping to be autographed by the Sultan.

Hakuōki (薄桜鬼〜新選組奇譚〜, Hakuōki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~) is a video game series by Idea Factory.

Souji Okita (沖田総司, Okita Souji)
Okita is the First Division Captain and a peerless swordsman. He suffers from tuberculosis, and is later visited by Nagumo Kaoru who gives him a bottle of Ochimizu as a cure for his tuberculosis. Driven by guilt at being incapacitated by his illness, Okita drinks the elixir. Although he becomes a Rasetsu, the Shinsengumi discover that he does not benefit from accelerated healing when wounded by silver weapons, thus discovering the weakness of Rasetsu. He is based on the historical Okita Sōji.

Angered by Kondou's death, and his own weakening condition, he kills off an entire group of men that were planning to assassinate Hijikata. Since he was already weak, his life force was sapped away by using his Rasetsu powers, and as a result his body turned to dust. The only thing left behind was his sword.

The World Ends with You, known in Japan as It's a Wonderful World (すばらしきこのせかい Subarashiki Kono Sekai) is an action RPG for the Nintendo DS.

BJ is a member of 777's band, Def Märch, along with Tenho.

He is a normal, black hooded Reaper, dressed in a similar style to many other Reapers. Though he is never seen performing Reaper duties, he is presumably a Harrier Reaper - though nothing is actually confirmed about his rank.

Uzuki Yashiro (八代卯月, Yashiro Uzuki) is a major character in The World Ends with You and is a Harrier Reaper.

She wears a gloved sweater with a white corset and a pair of black shorts along with knee high white boots. The players call her "Pinky" because of her short pink hair and vibrant lipstick (though she's apparently touchy about this, telling Beat to "leave my hair out of this" the first time he uses the nickname to her face).

Mitsuki Konishi (虚西充妃, Konishi Mitsuki) is a character in The World Ends with You and is an officer of the Reapers.

The cold and crafty Mitsuki Konishi serves as the Game Master during the Beat chapter, and is one of the most powerful Reapers. She is about 23. At first, she seems only interested in serving the Conductor, Megumi Kitaniji, but shows her true colors by doing whatever it takes to climb in the ranks.

Dual - Kirin, 麒麟

A young congressman, Roger, tries to convince the Count to sell him a legendary beast called a Kirin. The Count refuses and tells him the Kirin decides to whom it will belong.

Later, Roger's manager Kelly has a long talk with Roger's wife Nancy, who is unhappy with politics. Kelly feels he owes it to Roger to have him elected President; Nancy feels Kelly is just being used by her lothario husband.

After Kelly and Nancy revisit the shop, The Count informs them he will now sell the Kirin. Roger and Kelly return the following day, whereupon the Kirin, in the guise of a little girl, is given to them. The Count reiterates the Kirin will decide who is its master, and grant its master one wish.

On the way back home, a school bus full of children is in peril, but the quick thinking of Roger and Kelly prevent a disaster. However, their car goes over a cliff. Which man will the Kirin call master and allow to live?

A sugary treat convinces the Count to be talkative, and he tells Leon that the life of Robin was a lonely one. His wife had left him and his acting career was going nowhere because he had been typecast. All he had was his collection of exotic lizards.

On a visit to the pet shop, he purchased a one-of-a-kind pet - a Medusa lizard. Having the tail of a snake and the body of a woman, the Medusa lizard must always wear a blindfold, for her gaze could kill. All Robin had to remember was never look into its eyes. Inspired by his new creature, Robin gives his all at his next audition. But sometimes that just isn't enough...

According to legend this species was kept as a murder weapon. They'd lure their enemy with thier enchanting appearence and as soon as they were close enough they would take of thier eye mask and stare at the enemy. Those who met her gaze would be turned into stone. Like the creature that appears in greek mythology, Medusa.

Her costume is in the Erte style.

Dream - Birds of Paradise, 极乐鸟

The japanese name for Strelitzia is "Gokuraku Cho Ka" or "Bird of Paradise" the name of a tropical flower.

The first unusual pet to spread it's wings in the first volume of the manga. A tropical bird from a deserted island in the far southern seas that takes on a sort of human form. The male of this species is beautiful and colourful, and can sing like an angel, entrancing all who hear it. The female, however, doesn't sing and isn't colourful at all.

The Stelitzia's costume is taken from Bali's Legong dance costume.Contract of agreement:
1. Feed him fresh fruit daily.
2. Do not show him to anyone else.
3. If he starts to sing you must go to his side. Unless he sees you listening to his singing, he will not stop. Even if he were to start bleeding from his throat, he would continue to sing.

Dummy - Nine-tailed Fox, Ten-chan ,九尾狐

Ten-chan is a shape-shifting nine-tailed fox with a relaxed personality and a crude manner of speech. His ability to shape-shift is so good that he can look like several different things at the same time, depending on who's looking at him. He also has the ability to mimic the personality of whatever he's shifted into and seems to have somewhat occult powers as well. It is uncertain how he got the name "Ten-chan", since he said once that it was not his name; it may have been derived from tenko, which is the highest rank a kitsune can achieve.

To most people, when he's not transformed, Ten-chan looks like a little white fox with multiple tails. To the Count and Chris, he looks like a laid-back young man wearing casual clothes.

11 Feb 2011, Singapore's Marina Bay area came alive on Friday, with a fiery display of performances at Chingay 2011

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officiated the ceremony amidst much cheer.

A heavy downpour at about 4pm had caused some outdoor acts to be postponed or cancelled, but that did not dampen the mood. By 6pm, the rain had cleared and it was back to action.

A dazzling extravaganza of colours and cultural diversity, Chingay Parade Singapore is known for its resplendent floats and multi-cultural local and international performances that are an insight to our festive traditions and delight the hearts of many Singaporeans and tourists.

The word Chingay is from the Hokkien dialect, of which the Mandarin equivalent is Zhuang Yi (妆艺), meaning "the art of masquerade". The festival began as a neighbourhood parade with only Chinese elements in 1973. Today, the Chingay Parade has evolved to be the grandest street and floats parade in Asia, showcasing the rich, vibrant multi-culturalism of Singapore and exciting cultures all over the world.

The game follows the main character, Nier, as he attempts to find a cure for an illness, known as the Black Scrawl Virus, that Yonah has succumbed to. In their search they encounter the hot-tempered, foul-mouthed Kainé, who herself is part-Shade, and a young boy Emil, whose eyes petrify anyone that gazes upon them.

Characters:

Kainé (カイネ, Kaine, simply "Kaine" in the Japanese versions)

A scantily clad swordswoman accompanying Nier who has drawn media attention for having a foul mouth. Though originally rumored to be a character exclusive to the Japan-only Nier Replicant, the third trailer for Nier showcases an audio-only monologue of Kainé berating Nier's book companion, Weiss. Since she was a little girl she has been possessed by a Shade named Tyrann, who she plans to kill someday. In the original Japanese version, Kainé was shown to be a hermaphrodite (or futanari(newhalf) but all physical evidence of this was erased with the American/European releases (but not really).

A very last minutes decision to stop by at Port Dickson for sunset. Well, as you can see from the images, mainly BW, no lucky for a colorful sunset.

After that we drove to a nearby malay seafood restaurant. Had a wonderful dinner and then started our long drive back to Singapore.

It was a tiring shoot where we traveled all the way to Pulau Ubin. Started to meet up around 8am then took a bus.... took a boat ride and lastly took a van. We reached Chek Java ard 9.3am... both Jia and Yang did their makeup while I just walked around reki the place. The sky turned dark and rained very heavily before our shoot... So we decided to shoot 'indoor' British cottage.......

We left Pulau Ubin around 4.30pm just to make sure we were not to stay over due to no more boat services hahahahaha. Well overall it was a fun experience, cheers.

Hatsune Miku (初音ミク) is a singing synthesizer application and its female character.

It uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid synthesizing technology. The name of the character comes from a fusion of the Japanese for first (初, hatsu), sound (音, ne) and future (Miku (ミク) sounds like a nanori reading of future, 未来, normally read as "mirai"), referring to her position as the first of Crypton's "Character Vocal Series".

This shoot was mainly focusing on Miku practising her song and guitar.

Street Fighter made its debut in the arcades in 1987. Oh man... I still remembered that I was collecting Street Fighter stickers during that time >.<

"Ryu" (リュウ, "Ryū", written as 隆 in the original Street Fighter) is a video game character created by Capcom, the main protagonist of the Street Fighter series.

Ryu debuted in the first Street Fighter as the primary playable character in the game, with his best friend, rival and sparring partner Ken serving as the second player's character. He and his rival Ken (who both trained under the same master, a character later established to be Gouken) compete in the tournament depicted in the game in order to test their strength against the tournament's champion, Sagat.

Met up with few cosplay's friends and did some mini shoot at ACM... after that dragged ourself to Clarke Quay to meet up more 'Ghost'.. I was so tired that i can't drag myself further to Zouk :(

To carry out her experiments, she infiltrates DWMA as a kindly school nurse. She is sinister, scheming, and incredibly cunning, allowing her to amass a small but effective entourage to carry out her plans. Her body contains 1,000 magical snakes which can be used as weapons called "Vector Arrows," as well as to place them inside the bodies of others to communicate with them telepathically or to kill them from the inside. She is killed in battle with Franken Stein shortly after her plan to revive Asura succeeds, though her soul persists and possesses a young girl named Rachel.

The Neon Genesis Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン, Shin Seiki Evangerion)

Mari Illustrious Makinami (真希波・マリ・イラストリアス, Makinami Mari Irasutoriasu?) is an Evangelion pilot strictly introduced into the franchise during the 4-part theatrical remake series Rebuild of Evangelion, in the second installment Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.

Little is known about her as of yet except that she is the pilot of the Provisional Evangelion Unit-05 which differs from previous incarnations drastically featuring four mechanical "legs" that end in wheels and a lack of hands which have been replaced with a jousting lance and "claw". Because of its unique design, Mari pilots her Eva wearing a helmet-like contraption and her plugsuit is equipped with several attachments that connect to tubing that apparently help her in moving the Evangelion. Mari's designation amongst the other Children has yet to be revealed. She self destructs Unit-05 to defeat one of the Angels in the film's opening but manages to escape unharmed.

Life in SG - YOG Closing Ceremony Fireworks!

The YOG Closing Ceremony was held on Thursday, 26 August 2010 at The Float@Marina Bay.

In contrast to the Opening Ceremony, many of the elements of the Closing Ceremony are governed by tradition than official mandate. Usually, flag bearers from each participating country enter the stadium in single file and behind them all the athletes without any distinction or grouping by nationality to symbolise bringing all the athletes of the world together as "one nation".

After the athletes enter the stadium, three national flags are hoisted on flagpoles one at a time, while the corresponding national anthems are played. The flag of Greece will be on the middle pole to honour the birthplace of the Olympic Games; the flag of the host country will be on the left-hand pole, and the flag of the country hosting the next Summer or Winter Olympic Games on the right.

In the midst of the performances, there will be fountains, spotlight, fireworks and flames to add to the vibrancy of the celebration.

Because of rain I got a seat in the VVIP sector, thats pretty close... too bad my len was not long enough to get a close up shot of him. Still, I liked the songs, enjoyed a spectacular show of lasers, lights and WATER... hahaha.

Rozen Maiden - Love the Sunshine

Rozen Maiden (ローゼンメイデン, Rōzen Meiden)

Rozen Maiden (ローゼンメイデン, Rōzen Meiden) is a manga series created by the manga author duo, Peach-Pit. The story centers on Sakurada Jun, a young hikikomori boy that finds himself indebted to a living doll by the name of Shinku, a doll of the Rozen Maiden series, who was created by a mysterious but extremely talented dollmaker.

Shinku, the fifth Rozen Maiden doll.

She embodies the traditional Victorian aristocrat. She is extremely demanding and can seem unappreciative of others. Her favorite words are "tea", "servant" and "What?" She seems to enjoy lecturing, slapping, and generally abusing Jun, her medium, at every opportunity. She is very aware of her femininity, forever reminding others that she and the other Maidens are 'ladies'. Shinku is also perceived as being cold and angry, but she is actually very protective of, and cares deeply for, her sisters and for Jun. Shinku's presence at the Sakurada home has led to other Rozen Maidens appearing there. She hates cats because one almost swallowed her wind-up key in the past.

Hinaichigo, the sixth Rozen Maiden doll.

Although she can be ridiculously naïve and selfish, she has nothing but the best intentions for those that she cares about. Her disposition is also a mismatch for her power, which is a series of attacks based on strawberry vines, which she mostly uses to restrain opponents and can also tell her what is happening. She loses to Shinku in the Alice Game, becoming the first doll to lose the right to become Alice. Shinku does not beat Hinaichigo outright; the younger doll simply exhausted the energy of her medium, Tomoe, and she becomes, in Shinku's opinion, another servant.

Souseiseki (蒼星石, Sōseiseki, Lapis Lazuli Stern, Lapis Lazuli Star)

Souseiseki, the fourth Rozen Maiden doll.

The fourth doll of the Rozen Maiden collection and Suiseiseki's twin, Souseiseki possesses a sharpness in her speech that is similar to Shinku's, attacks ruthlessly in combat, and does not tolerate sub-par actions. She is also quite stubborn and very devoted to her masters. Her appearance is not only the most masculine of the dolls, but her speech is also noted to be of the masculine form, using the first person pronoun "boku" instead of gender neutral pronouns like "jibun" or "watashi." Souseiseki's presence is much more significant in the anime than in the manga. These all being stereotypical traits of a tomboy.

Suiseiseki (翠星石, Suiseiseki, Jade Stern, Jade Star)

Suiseiseki, the third Rozen Maiden doll.

The third Rozen Maiden doll, and Souseiseki's older twin. She and Souseiseki are both referred to as "gardeners" for their ability to communicate and tend not only to regular plants, but also to the "soul trees" of humans.
Despite her attitude towards Jun, Suiseiseki does care a great deal for him, and her attempts to cover that up usually manifest in the form of more insults. In fact, she cares deeply for everyone in her life, even if she does not show it outwardly, a personality of a stereotypical tsundere. In Rozen Maiden träumend, Suiseiseki stands out among the dolls in that she values her sisters' love more than the goal of becoming Alice. She is one of the few dolls who opposes the Alice Game, and has no intentions of becoming Alice if it means taking her fellow sisters' Rosa Mystica. Suiseiseki and Jun attempt, without much success, to convince the other Rozen Maidens that the Alice Game is a meaningless endeavor. In her brief appearance in the OVA, she makes the same appeal to her twin several times.

It was a very last minutes arrangement and managed to capture some shots within an hour time... hope you guys like it.
