Saiyuki is the story of four anti-heroes: the monk Genjyo Sanzo (or just "Sanzo"), the monkey king Son Goku, the half-demon Sha Gojyo, and the man-turned-demon Cho Hakkai (formerly known as Cho Gonou). They have been dispatched by the Sanbutsushin (the Three Aspects of Buddha, who relay the orders of heaven) to travel to India to stop the possible resurrection of the Ox-Demon-King, Gyumaoh.

There is a vaccine to prevent infection where regular inoculations are required.

Daryl Yan

A 17-year-old GHQ officer, ranked as "Second Lieutenant". He is the son of the Major General and the commander of GHQ.








Shu Ouma

Shu Ouma is the protagonist of "Guilty Crown". He is a 17-year-old second year student who is a part of the school's modern image and video research club. After a chance encounter, Shu Ouma manages to attain the "Power of Kings" on his right arm.




Tsugumi

An expert hacker, serving as the operator for the Guerrilla Resistance Group "Undertaker". She is a cheeky 14-year-old and speaks her mind.

Tsurugi Minko is a 16-year-old apprentice chef and resident at Kissuisō. Her beautiful looks hide a very cold demeanor. She dislikes Ohana from their first meeting, nicknaming her balut, but has slowly accepted her as a friend.



Nako Oshimizu (押水 菜子 Oshimizu Nako)

Oshimizu Nako is a shy and timid 16-year-old cleaning part-time maid and waitress at Kissuisō. She has three younger siblings whom she assists her parents in raising. She becomes close friends with Ohana and teaches her how to perform her duties.

Lu Xun / Riku Son / 陸遜

Lu Xun is a young strategist of Wu who is almost on par with Zhuge Liang of Shu or Sima Yi of Wei in terms of intelligence and abilities, with the latter commenting that Lu Xun might become a future threat to him. He starts at the Battle of Fan Castle, where he devises a plan with Lu Meng that ultimately leads to Guan Yu's defeat and death.
