Life in SG - YOG Closing Ceremony Fireworks!

The YOG Closing Ceremony was held on Thursday, 26 August 2010 at The Float@Marina Bay.

In contrast to the Opening Ceremony, many of the elements of the Closing Ceremony are governed by tradition than official mandate. Usually, flag bearers from each participating country enter the stadium in single file and behind them all the athletes without any distinction or grouping by nationality to symbolise bringing all the athletes of the world together as "one nation".

After the athletes enter the stadium, three national flags are hoisted on flagpoles one at a time, while the corresponding national anthems are played. The flag of Greece will be on the middle pole to honour the birthplace of the Olympic Games; the flag of the host country will be on the left-hand pole, and the flag of the country hosting the next Summer or Winter Olympic Games on the right.

In the midst of the performances, there will be fountains, spotlight, fireworks and flames to add to the vibrancy of the celebration.

Life in SG - Alarice

Performance date: 22 August

As an independent artist, 23 year old Alarice has already managed a sold-out tour in the East, with stops including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong.



Alarice's single 'Colour' was recognised as one of the top ten songs of the year in GMA's prestigious songwriting competition

The success of the second EP 'Sunday Afternoon' caught the attention of Warner Music Singapore, which promptly signed her up and released her first full-length album, 'Sunday Afternoon (Deluxe Edition)', in March 2010

The 13-track album contains songs from both EPs as well as two newly-recorded bonus tracks – 'Sunday Afternoon (Acoustic Version)' and 'Man In The Mirror', a soulful and unique interpretation of Michael Jackson's classic

Life in SG - Singapore 45th NDP

Yesterday together with Albert both of us camped at this location under the HOT sun from 2.30am onwards... luckily, I brought along a small mobile shelter - an umbrella... hahaha.

The place started to fill up with people while the sun was slowly setting behind the building...





















Thats all the firework displayed for the night... cheers!
